Painting the Beauty Around Her.

It is difficult to decide whether art reflects life or vice versa when observing Carrie and her work. Her appreciation of beauty has materialized in various mediums in both her art and her daily life.

Whether in her home and studio, her interior designs, or on a canvas, Carrie’s use of rich colors and thick textures reflects the artist’s unique view of the complex beauty in her world. Her paintings are a study in light; the textures and colors create a vibrancy that draws the eye and gives the work a life of its own. Carrie’s art stems from a love of nature and a desire torealize and to maximize the beauty in all things.

She lists the works of Cezanne and Van Gogh as major influences as well as her close friend and mentor, JD Miller. Carrie credits instructors Clara Stoval of the Garrett Art Gallery and color specialist Liz Richardson of the William Meritt Chase School as integral in developing her style.
