“A Different Perspective” February 8, 2007 - March 7, 2007
Carrie Garner's Galleria d'Arte is pleased to present "A Different Perspective" featuring oil paintings by,
Henry David Potwin. Join us on February 10, 2007 from 7pm to 10pm as we debut this body of work.
Potwin’s style is self described as conceptual realism. To quote the artist, “Painting is a synthesis that considers the myriad aspects of human awareness, expressed in visual form. Melding together philosophy, physics, sociology, emotion, mysticism, and eroticism with craftsmanship. My goal is to create a body of work that is multi-layered and resonates with common man as well as the initiated.”
With one look at Potwin’s paintings, you realize his broad assortment of conceptual realism subjects range from landscapes to portraits to observations of modern day society.

“The Arbitrary Colourist” May 10, 2007 - June 6, 2007
Thad Matthew Morgan’s, first McKinney art exhibit debuts on May 12th, 2007 at a gallery reception at Carrie Garner’s Galleria d’Arte from 7pm to 10pm. A self-described modern Fauvist, Morgan’s paintings are indeed masterpieces of bold and vivid colors as he pays homage to the early 20th century Fauvist movement.
By exploring the symbolic use of form and movement, Morgan’s paintings are studies of energy and the innate ability of color to influence feelings, trigger emotions, and alter moods. “The pieces I produce capture a glimpse of a movement which is a device to aide the viewer to be engaged with the subject,” says Morgan. With the extensiveness of subjects, Morgan’s paintings appeal to a wide and eclectic audience.

“A Modern Twist” July 12, 2007 - August 8, 2007
Recently returning from an art fellowship in Shanghai, China, Carrie Garner’s Galleria d’Arte proudly welcomes George Lynch in his first McKinney art exhibit in our new home at the old Collin County prison. Lynch's wildly expressive art centers on contemporary Christian themes. His approach to religious subjects purposely avoids iconic imagery, and his juxtaposition of modern art to ancient religion resonates vociferously in each of Lynch’s creations. “The Art of Nature” September 6, 2007 - October 10, 2007
The splendor of nature is celebrated by artist Pavlina Panova at a gallery reception on September 8, 2007 from 7pm to 10pm. Panova’s art form, natural leaf sculpture, is a distinctive and organic celebration of the beauty around us.

Attracted and fascinated by the gorgeousness of nature, especially in autumn, Panova started collecting and preserving leaves and experimenting with different techniques and media. Ultimately, she has created a one-of-a kind art form that showcases the rich colors, graduating nuances, amazing shapes, lines, and textures of leaves. We haven’t seen anything quite like her work. Experience “The Art of Nature” at Galleria d’Arte.

“Los Dias de los Muertos The Days of the Dead”
November 10, 2007 December 5, 2007
Celebrate this hauntingly magical time as Carrie Garner’s Galleria d’ Arte welcomes back artist extraordinaire and gallery friend, Kim Lanus for the second annual Los Dias de los Muertos celebration.
Ms. Lanus’ paintings are created on tin and wood in the old retablos and Italian style of painting. All pieces are sealed for longevity, and each piece is framed in the time-honored gothic European tradition. Ms. Lanus’ collectors include former ABC anchorman, Sam Donaldson and President George W. Bush.

Los Dias de los Muertos, the Days of the Dead, is a traditional Mexican holiday honoring the dead. It is celebrated every year at the same time as Halloween and the Christian holy days of All Saints Day and All Souls Day. Los Dias de los Muertos is not a sad time, but instead a time of remembering and rejoicing.
